Congressman Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin’s District 7 has reintroduced a bill that would prevent prime farmland from being enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program, which pays farmers to leave land uncultivated.

Congressman Tom Tiffany’s GRAIN For America Act would place a 1-year moratorium on the enrollment of farmland in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), which pays farmers to leave land uncultivated. After the 1-year moratorium, the same legislation would prevent prime farmland from being enrolled in the CRP.

Fitzgerald was joined by Wisconsin Rep. Tom Tiffany and Alabama Rep. Barry Moore in cosponsoring the legislation.

Unfortunately, Nick isn’t an anomaly.

Thursday morning, U.S. Congressman Kevin Hern of Oklahoma – the Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman -- and RSC Budget and Spending Task Force Chairman Ben Cline of Virginia led 55 colleagues who in early afternoon sent a letter to President Joe Biden, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-California, House Minority Leader Jim Jeffries, R-Kansas, Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, D-New York, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky.
