In anticipation of the fires to the north affecting their constituents, a group of six Republican Congressmen, led by Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI), sent a letter on Monday to Canadian Ambassador to Washington Kirsten Hillman requesting information on how the Canadian government is planning to contain the fires, emphasizing that millions of Americans are hurt by Ottawa’s failure to remedy the situation on an annual basis.

USDA should comply with President Trump’s order immediately. Each day without reform further disadvantages farmers, like Mr. Faust, based on their immutable characteristics.”

For decades, U.S. trade policies have hollowed out Midwest manufacturing towns, sending jobs overseas and leaving American workers behind. American farmers and workers can compete head-to-head with anyone in the world – if the rules are fair. Unfortunately, for the last several decades, they haven’t been.

Co-author Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin testified the wolf has more than recovered and needs to be taken off the Endangered Species List. He says wolf management needs to return to the states to protect people, pets, and livestock. “We need to stop the slaughter that is going on in my district, in many districts across the United States and if we don’t, we now have three threats that have been documented to humans in Wisconsin. We’re going to end up with a situation that is going to be regrettable.”
