Today, The Heritage Foundation, in partnership with America First Legal, filed an amicus brief in Gonzalez v Google. With Boyden Gray & Associates serving as lead counsel, the amicus brief was filed on behalf of Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Braun, Joni Ernst, Lindsey Graham, Chuck Grassley, Bill Hagerty, James Lankford, Mike Lee, Cynthia Lummis, Marco Rubio, and Roger Wicker, and Representatives Mike Johnson, Jodey C. But several Wisconsin lawmakers are raising concerns over the app’s use and its potential security threats. Congressman Tom Tiffany represents Northwest Wisconsin in Washington. He and fellow republican Representatives Mike Gallagher, Scott Fitzgerald, Glenn Grotham, Bryan Steil and Senator Ron Johnson sent a letter to Governor Tony Evers Tuesday urging him to ban the use of TikTok on government official devices.

Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wisc.) said if China’s military invades Taiwan, China should expect sanctions and other consequences from the global community. “If China were to attempt to forcibly annex Taiwan, the Chinese Communist Party would be walking into the same kind of sanctions dragnet that the U.S. has tightened around Cuba, and the international framework that the West has imposed on Russia and Belarus,” Tiffany told State Newswire.
