This week we’ve got a special edition of the Telegram lined up for you outlining my investigative trip to the U.S-Mexico border. As you might expect, it is a chaotic environment where a humanitarian and national security crisis is unfolding every day. Some of you may be wondering why a congressman from Wisconsin would travel down to the Arizona desert. The answer is simple: Because neglect, mismanagement, and failure to enforce the law on America’s southern border contributes to crime in Wisconsin. It also strains our schools and puts pressure on our social safety net and public health infrastructure.

It’s no secret that the Biden administration has created a catastrophe on our southern border. From ending the highly successful “Remain in Mexico” program to returning to the failed policy of “catch and release,” the White House has put out the welcome mat for migrants across the globe, fueling record levels of illegal immigration.
Issues:Congress

This week in Washington President Biden submitted his fiscal year 2023 budget request to Congress – unfortunately for the American taxpayer it looks as if the President has taken it upon himself to make a bad situation even worse.

March Madness officially kicked off this week – both on the court and on Capitol Hill. It’s no secret that one of President Biden’s first priorities after taking office was to reduce American energy independence. He delivered on that promise by canceling the Keystone XL pipeline, cutting off leasing and permitting on federal lands, and implementing a stack of policy changes to discourage American energy production – and now the American people are paying the price – a record setting price of $4.33 a gallon on average.

Today is the one-year anniversary of the Democrats first major spending spree being signed into law by President Biden. While their $1.9 trillion package was disguised as a Covid relief package, only 9% of it actually went towards pandemic related health care needs – the other 91% went towards big government bailouts and pet projects.

This week I attended President Biden’s first State of the Union address where he reported on the first year of his administration and his plans for the future of the nation.

For nearly two years now the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has been collecting data on COVID-19 and publishing guidance supposedly based on the findings from that data. However, it recently came to light that the CDC has been withholding a mountain of data from the American people – releasing only the cherry-picked datathat supports its narrative.

With inflation recently hitting a four decade high thanks to President Biden’s destructive economic policies, many Americans are left struggling with how to manage their personal finances. The skyrocketing prices have put a strain on the kitchen table budget of families across the nation, and for those living on a fixed income that burden can be even more difficult to navigate.

Prices are continuing to rise, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be slowing down anytime soon. On Wednesday, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed that inflation went over expectations in January coming in at 7.5%, which is the largest increase since February 1982.
