Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07) announced the following key legislative initiatives for Wisconsin’s Seventh District signed in to law this year.
Remembering our local veteran heroes: The United States Post Offices in New Richmond and Neillsville will be renamed in honor of Captain Harmon, Private Peirson, and Corporal Red Cloud, who courageously made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country during World War II and the Korean War. Congressman Tiffany introduced H.R. 8217 and H.R. 8218 earlier this year, and both pieces of legislation were signed in to law through year-end legislative action.

Today, control of the United States House of Representatives officially switches to the Republican Party. It brings new division to the federal level after years of total Democratic Party control and puts Wisconsin’s Seventh Congressional District Rep. Tom Tiffany into the majority after several years in the minority.

Thursday, Wisconsin Congressman Tom Tiffany was joined by Georgia Congressman Hank Johnson to introduce the Justice for Murder Victims Act.
Their bipartisan proposal seeks to eliminate the 13th-century “year-and-a-day” rule, which prohibits homicide prosecutions if the victim died more than a year and a day from the date of the defendant’s assault.
