Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., sparked outrage from Democrats on Thursday when he used a hearing on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to ask why Hunter Biden had not been charged with allegedly lying on a gun transaction form.

Republican Congressman Tom Tiffany held a listening session in Chippewa County Tuesday to give an update from Washington. The listening session took place at DJ’s Restaurant in Cadott. Tiffany says it’s important to hear from community members in Cadott as they were just added to the 7th Congressional District in 2021.

So far, Evers and Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., have sent a letter to the BIA, asking that it be in “immediate engagement” and “aid in negotiations.” Tiffany and Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., sent a letter to the Department of the Interior (DOI), of which the BIA is a subsidiary, and the Department of Transportation (DOT). According to Tiffany’s office, the BIA and DOT have been radio silent, and the DOI claimed it did not receive the letter the lawmakers sent a week ago.

Meanwhile, Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., who represents Lac Du Flambeau's congressional district, has repeatedly called on the Biden administration to take action to end the blockade, arguing it has forced locals to cross a frozen lake for basic necessities, report to work or attend school. Some residents have expressed concern that the lake may soon thaw and become unreliable to travel across.

A group of House Republicans introduced legislation on Friday that aims to “prohibit discrimination” in government by banning federal agencies and entities that receive federal funds from granting preferences to individuals based on race, color, or national origin. The Fairness, Anti-Discrimination and Individual Rights Act – or FAIR Act – was introduced Friday by Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wisc.), and three of the House GOP’s most prominent minority members – Reps. Burgess Owens (R-Utah), Michelle Steel (R-Calif.) and Byron Donalds (R-Fla.).
