Tiffany Sends Letter to Secretary Mayorkas Requesting Answers and Expressing Border Crisis Concerns

Tiffany (WI-07) sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas requesting answers and expressing concerns about the Biden administration's handling of the border crisis they created. Drastic White House policy changes, including the termination of the “Remain in Mexico” protocol and a return to the dangerous policy of “catch-and-release,” have led to a surge of illegal immigration, overwhelming Border Patrol agents and facilities, and threatening to exacerbate the public health situation.

Burgess Owens (UT-04) announced plans to introduce the Agriculture Civil Rights and Equality Act (ACRE Act), which would prohibit officials at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) from discriminating or providing preferential treatment to any person on the basis of race, color, national origin or sex. The legislation will be formally introduced Thursday.

The prohibitions would apply to USDA hiring, contracting, and programming, including programs administered by states, territories and universities using USDA funds.

Democrats continued their push to impose far reaching gun control bills this week after a man reportedly gunned down several people in a Boulder, Colorado grocery store. In the immediate aftermath of the attack, several high-profile progressives made false and inflammatory claims about the alleged assailant’s background and sought to politicize the tragedy. Former President Obama and his wife described those of us standing up for the Second Amendment as “cowardly,” and President Biden demanded a ban on semi-automatic rifles.
