Tiffany Announces 2021 Congressional Art Competition Winners

WAUSAU, WI - Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07) announced the winners of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition. Sophie Madej of Wausau West High School won first place for The Sandwich, Elizabeth Van Rixel of Athens High School won second place for The Runner’s Mind, and Emmery Nielsen of Shell Lake High School won third place for Break Through. Ellise Markevitch of Wausau West High School won honorable mention for Facets.

“This year, we had many wonderful submissions to the Congressional Art Competition. Thank you to each student for their participation in the competition,” said Tiffany. “I am honored to present these talented young artists with recognition for their creativity and hard work. I encourage all students to continue to pursue their passion for the arts.”

The first place piece will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol, the second place piece will be displayed in Congressman Tiffany’s Washington, DC office, and the third place piece will be displayed in Tiffany's Wausau, WI office. All other submissions will be displayed in an exhibit at the Center for Visual Arts Loft Gallery in Wausau, WI from May 14, 2021 through July 10, 2021.
