The Tiffany Telegram: September 5, 2025
Dear Friend,
After a busy stretch in Wisconsin this August, I returned to Washington this week to build off the momentum Republicans have already delivered this year.
Back in July, we passed the largest tax cut in history for working families. Thanks to this historic tax relief, Wisconsin families can expect to take home more than $7,000.
The package also ends taxes on Social Security for nearly 90 percent of seniors, eliminates taxes on overtime pay for police officers, nurses, factory workers, and countless others who keep America running, and this week, the Trump administration announced that more than 65 occupations will now qualify for no tax on tips under this bill.
But that’s not all.
This pro-growth bill also increases the Child Tax Credit, expands access to affordable childcare, and makes the paid family leave tax credit permanent for working families. It even supports hardworking Wisconsinites pursuing trade schools and workforce training by expanding Pell Grants, giving students in skilled trades the same financial support as those attending four-year colleges.
This is a major win for Wisconsin families, and that’s why on Tuesday, I am hosting a live telephone town hall with Secretary Sean Duffy to talk more about it (see below for more details).
House Republicans have also codified more than 50 of President Trump’s executive orders. These include protecting election integrity, defending children from surgical mutilation, and securing the border—which today is the most secure in U.S. history, with zero illegal alien releases for the past three months.
On that note, Governor Tony Evers astonishingly claimed this week that Wisconsin’s economy would “be gone” without illegal aliens. You can see that clip here.
That’s an insult to hardworking Wisconsinites, and just another reminder of how Wisconsin Democrats think they serve illegal aliens. Fortunately, he’ll soon be self-deporting from the governor’s office.
I will always fight to protect Wisconsin’s working families, and that includes making sure their wages are not driven down by cheap foreign labor.
Thanks again for starting off your weekend with us! We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Tiffany Telegram.
Sincerely,
Tom Tiffany
Member of Congress

Telephone town hall with Secretary Sean Duffy
On Tuesday, September 9th at 6:30pm CST, I will be hosting a live telephone town hall with former Seventh District Congressman and current United States Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy. This town hall will allow me and Secretary Duffy to discuss the important work we are doing in Washington, like passing the largest tax cut in history for working families, and take questions from callers live. Constituents in Wisconsin’s Seventh District may join the call by dialing 833-946-1523 at the time of the event. The event will last approximately one hour, and I look forward to speaking with you. Slamming the door on Palestinian terrorism
Telegram readers know that I was among the first lawmakers to try and stop Palestinians from flooding into American communities by introducing the Guaranteeing Aggressors Zero Admissions – or GAZA Act. This bill would halt the issuance of visas to Palestinians. I did so because Hamas, which runs Gaza, is a notorious terrorist organization that bragged about its murderous activities – and even infiltrated the United Nations. Fatah, which controls the West Bank, is no better. Fatah’s operatives have frequently cheered on violence, calling for the “slaughter of anyone who is Israeli” and comparing Jews to “apes and pigs.” Fatah’s leader, Mahmoud Abbas, is perhaps best known for making outrageous statements about the Holocaust. That’s why I was pleased to see the Trump administration halt the issuance of visas to Palestinian passport holders this week. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also canceled the visas of Palestinian bosses like Mr. Abbas ahead of an upcoming UN meeting, citing their longtime support for terrorism. This is good news, because neither of these militant groups are trustworthy partners, and that’s exactly why we shouldn’t be trusting their identity documents. Especially now.
The truth about the OBBB: Week 5
Democrats continue to push this idea that the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) harms seniors, which is a complete lie. The truth is that the OBBB delivers historic tax cuts to seniors, including no taxes on their Social Security benefits, and fixes blunders made by the Biden administration regarding nursing homes. Telegram readers may recall back when the Biden administration rolled out a one-size-fits-all staffing mandate for nursing homes. At the time, estimates showed that 80 percent of facilities would be incapable of meeting the requirement, forcing many to shut down and placing more than 290,000 nursing home residents at risk of displacement. Earlier this year, I signed on to the Protecting America’s Seniors’ Access to Care Act to block this mandate. I am happy to report that legislation like this was included in the OBBB, and now seniors do not have to worry about their nursing homes closing. You can read more about this here.
Unsafe at any speed
By now, you’ve probably seen the viral videos and news reports about a fatal car crash in Florida involving an illegal alien from India. The driver attempted to make an illegal U-turn on a busy expressway, causing an accident that left three Haitians in the US on “Temporary Protected Status” dead. Coverage of the tragedy has revealed that the driver – who was issued a driver’s license by the sanctuary state of California and handed a work permit by the Biden administration – was only able to speak broken English during a previous traffic stop in New Mexico. It’s outrageous, and it should never have happened. Here’s the bottom line: Issuing driver’s licenses to illegal aliens anywhere puts American motorists at risk everywhere. That’s why I joined Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) in introducing the Stop Greenlighting Driver Licenses for Illegal Immigrants Act, which would withhold federal funds from states that issue driver’s licenses to illegals or refuse to cooperate with federal enforcement efforts. You can read more about our bill here and here.

You may also remember that Democrats tried to give illegal aliens driver’s licenses in Wisconsin. This bill will put a stop to it.
Committee Update
Judiciary
An attack on our free speech
Over the past several months, the House Judiciary Committee has been actively investigating how anti-free speech laws in Europe have had dire effects on Americans’ First Amendment rights. Not only are Europeans arresting their own citizens for what the government has self-declared as “hate speech”, they are now twisting the arm of U.S.-based social media companies to silence Americans here at home. During this week’s hearing, the committee uncovered the extent of this abuse, reminding us to remain especially vigilant here in the United States when it comes to schemes to strip away our fundamental rights. Telegram readers may remember that just a mere three years ago, former President Biden and his administration created a “Ministry of Truth” that gave itself the power to suppress anything it labeled “disinformation and misinformation”. So-called “experts” in our own federal government sought to control the truth about COVID, hide stories relating to Hunter Biden’s laptop, and censor Americans who were simply exercising their freedom of speech. I will keep working hard in Congress to ensure that no one, foreign or domestic, can strip away our fundamental freedoms. You can watch my entire questioning here.
District Update
This Saturday: Service Academy Day
If you or someone you know is interested in serving in our nation’s military, you will not want to miss out on the Service Academy Day happening this Saturday, September 6th at 9am CST. Staff members from the Wisconsin delegation will be joined by representatives from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy, and U.S. Naval Academy to discuss best practices for applying to and attending our nation's service academies.
