The Tiffany Telegram: February 13, 2026
Dear Friend,
83% of Americans support requiring photo ID to vote in our elections. Yet our neighboring states like Illinois and Minnesota still do not require identification at the polls.
When I served in the Wisconsin State Legislature, we passed a photo ID requirement. Liberal pundits warned it would disenfranchise voters and suppress turnout. The opposite happened, and participation increased.
Only American citizens should vote in American elections. That is not controversial. It is common sense.
That’s why the House passed the SAVE America Act this week. This legislation does two simple things. It requires proof of citizenship when registering to vote and requires photo ID when casting a ballot.
But now, the same group of fearmongers who opposed Wisconsin’s photo ID law are at it again – trying to convince you that Americans are somehow too helpless and incompetent to prove who they are. That is simply false.
You need an ID to board a plane. You need an ID to buy a beer. This week in Madison, you even needed an ID to enter a drag show held at a public high school, which should never have been held on school grounds in the first place. If identification is required there, it goes without saying that it ought to be required to cast a ballot.
The SAVE America Act builds on the original SAVE Act by pairing proof of citizenship at registration with photo ID at the polls. The United States is one of the few countries in the world that does not consistently require voter ID. Even countries like Pakistan and Iraq require identification to vote. America should not have a lower standard than they do.
The bill also provides a clear process for states to establish procedures for individuals who have changed their name, including the ability to sign an affidavit attesting to their citizenship status. Acceptable documentation includes a REAL ID, U.S. passport, military ID or record of service, a government-issued photo ID showing a U.S. birthplace, or a government-issued photo ID accompanied by a birth certificate or naturalization certificate.
Restoring confidence that our elections are free, fair, and secure is essential. The SAVE America Act is an important first step toward doing that.
Thank you for starting your weekend with us. We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Tiffany Telegram, and we will be back in two weeks with more updates.
Sincerely,
Tom Tiffany

You can watch my remarks on elevating the Apostle Islands from a National Lakeshore to a National Park here.
Wisconsin’s first National Park
This week, the Natural Resources Committee passed my bill, the Apostle Islands National Park and Preserve Act, to designate Wisconsin’s first National Park. As many of you know from firsthand experience, the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a truly unrivaled destination that is more than worthy of being elevated to a crown jewel of the National Park System. The Apostle Islands are rich in natural, cultural, and historic heritage. From abundant forests and fisheries to dramatic cliffs and ice caves, there is truly no place in America like the Apostle Islands. The bill is very straightforward. It would simply upgrade the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore into the Apostle Islands National Park. It would maintain its existing boundaries, designate Sand Island as a National Preserve to ensure continued hunting access, and remain under the management and protection of the National Park Service. My legislation reflects an effort that has been several decades in the making. In 1930, nearly a century ago, Congress first authorized a study to designate the Apostle Islands as a National Park. More than 30 years later, President John F. Kennedy described the Islands as “part of our American heritage,” and the area was subsequently designated as a National Lakeshore, an effort spearheaded by the father of Earth Day, Senator Gaylord Nelson. Now this legislation can continue to move forward, and I think celebrating Wisconsin’s first national park – and granting it the perpetual prestige and protection it deserves – is something all Wisconsinites can get behind. You can read more about my bill here.
Lower prices on popular prescriptions
Last week, President Trump announced the launch of TrumpRx.gov, a website that provides patients with access to lower prices on popular and branded pharmaceuticals through Most-Favored-Nation pricing. This comes after the President signed an executive order in May, directing the administration to push for lower drug prices comparable to those paid in other developed countries. In the announcement, it was reported that patients will see a significant reduction in the cost of these drugs. And Wisconsinites will see real savings, with Ozempic dropping from $1,028 to an average price of $350 (as low as $199). Those looking to start a family will also see fertility medications like Cetrotide fall from $316 to $22.50. Today, 16 of the 17 largest pharmaceutical companies are participating and cover over 40 branded medicines nationwide. If your family is interested in using it, visit TrumpRx.gov, search for the medication, confirm the listed discount price, and, with a valid prescription, use the savings option shown for that drug, either a coupon you can print or save to your phone, or home delivery through a participating mail-order pharmacy for select specialty medications.
Common sense must return to our schools
While I had to be in Washington, D.C. voting this week, a member of my staff attended the New Richmond School District special session to urge them to reverse their policy allowing male students to use girls’ bathrooms. While the district refused to let my staff member speak, I want to thank New Richmond resident Dominic Ventura for reading my statement. Instead of protecting girls under Title IX, the district is forcing girls who feel unsafe to use a single-stall restroom. Punishing girls instead of fixing the policy is unacceptable. Federal leadership under President Donald Trump has made it clear these policies will not be tolerated, including suing school districts that fail to protect female-only spaces. We will keep fighting until this policy is overturned. I want to thank the parents, students, and community members who are speaking up and standing up for common sense. You can view a clip of my statement here.
Committee Update
Judiciary
Finally, a DOJ protecting the American people
Under the leadership of President Trump, we have a Department of Justice (DOJ) that is working to protect the American people. This week, in the House Judiciary Committee, Attorney General Pam Bondi shared the many successes of this DOJ: murders had their single largest one-year drop ever recorded, criminals are being thoroughly prosecuted, and illegal aliens are being taken off our streets. During my questioning, the Attorney General laid out how the new National Fraud Enforcement Division will be launching investigations and begin prosecuting individuals across the country who have been defrauding the American people. Telegram readers may also recall that last year, I reached out to the Attorney General to ensure that the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians’ tribal government reimburse the town of Lac du Flambeau for their effort to extort town residents by erecting unauthorized roadblocks. That unlawful shakedown attempt cost the town $600,000. In addition to the monetary cost, their outrageous blockade created a dangerous situation that impeded access for emergency services, made it more difficult for people to obtain medication and groceries, and forced residents to walk in the snow and ice just to access their homes. Attorney General Bondi guaranteed that unlike her predecessor Merrick Garland, she would ensure that the Justice Department further investigates the tribal government, hold them accountable, and seek actual justice and compensation for the town.
