By: James Morley III

Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., told Newsmax on Thursday that "DEI is dead with the Trump administration."

On the first week into his second term, President Donald Trump dismissed Adm. Linda Lee Fagan, former commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, over concerns about her fixation on DEI issues and the border. Tiffany said, "discriminate, exclude, indoctrinate. It's dead."

"DEI is dead with the Trump administration now.And it's about time that itwent away. Wesaw all these political appointees by the Biden administration. They were 'check the box' appointees. They were not merit-based.And that is going to goaway now. We're going tohave the best and brightestin these positions of suchgreat importance across thefederal government now," Tiffany said during an appearance on "National Report."

Host Shaun Kraisman noted that several private sector businesses are dropping their DEI policies, including Delta, Apple, Ben & Jerry's, and Google. Tiffany said he wasn't surprised by the shift.

"But it took someone like PresidentTrump to precipitate thisevent. We haveseen this craziness now for10 years. Whether it's DEI, the weaponization of theFBI, the Big Tech companiescensoring people's speech, including during COVID. Imean, we've just seen thiscraziness that's going on,the riots, the summer oflove in 2020. And theAmerican people wantedtheir country back," Tiffany added.
