Rep. Tiffany Statement on Formalizing Impeachment Inquiry

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07) released the following statement after voting to formalize the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. 

“The American people deserve transparency, and this process will give the House additional investigative abilities to uncover the facts about the President's involvement in his family’s foreign business deals,” said Congressman Tiffany.

Over the past year, House Republicans have uncovered through testimony, whistleblowers, and investigations that:

• The Biden family received at least $20 million from China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Romania while Joe Biden served as vice president and after he left public office.
• President Biden was on at least 20 phone calls with Hunter Biden’s foreign business associates and attended dinners with foreign oligarchs who paid huge sums of money to Hunter Biden.
• The Bidens created over 20 shell companies – most of which were created when Joe Biden was vice president.
• The House Oversight Committee released a check of $40,000 in laundered Communist Chinese money directly to Joe Biden.
• The House Oversight Committee uncovered evidence that Joe Biden, in 2018, received a $200,000 direct payment in the form of a "personal check" from his brother James Biden and sister-in-law Sara Biden.
• Hunter Biden's business partners and assistants visited the White House over 80 times when Joe Biden was vice president.
• President Biden was “the brand” for Hunter’s foreign business dealings according to Devon Archer.
• Then-Vice President Joe Biden was allegedly paid $5 million as part of a bribery scheme by an executive of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas firm that Hunter Biden sat on the board.
• Joe Biden set up three aliases – Robert L. Peters, Robin Ware and JRB Ware – to send emails when he was Vice President. The National Archives has 5,400 emails in which Joe Biden used fake names.
• Joe Biden used fake aliases to send and receive at least 327 emails from Hunter Biden, James Biden, and Hunter Biden’s business partners.
• The DOJ interfered and prevented leads into Joe Biden during Hunter’s tax investigation.
• Hunter Biden and other Biden family members have racked up at least 150 suspicious activity reports by U.S. banks for their shady foreign business deals.
